NIGERIA: Buhari Provides Proof of Meeting With Ojukwu
President Muhammadu Buhari provides video evidence of his 2003 meeting with Chukwuemeka Ojukwu - In the clip, the two men are seen shaking hands, during the meeting that reportedly took place in the president’s hometown of Daura - The clip was posted via the president’s official Twitter handle President Muhammadu Buhari has posted a video footage of his 2003 meeting with former Biafran warlord, Chief Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, sequel to his broadcast in which he said Nigeria must remain a united country.

Meanwhile in a seperate incident, first son of late Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu yesterday stated that President Muhammadu Buhari was right in his broadcast speech on his discussions with his late father on the indivisibility of Nigeria. In a press statement made available to journalists in Awka. Emeka Ojukwu denied reports by the media that he had made a statement claiming that Buhari was wrong in his broadcast regarding the discussions with his late father. "I want to state in an unequivocal terms that at no time did i grant any interview to any media or post anything on the social media". He released this press statement following stories making the round on social media that he (Emeka Ojukwu Jr.) had informed the public that Buhari's statements were untrue.

Ojukwu Jr. acknowledged that his father, the late Odumegwu Ojukwu held the said meeting with President Buhari. "It has been brought to my notice of an article making the rounds on social media attributed to me, refuting the remarks of Mr President concerning his relationship and discussions with my late father. Let me categorically state that i made no such comments to anybody and secondly that i am aware that Buhari's comments were indeed factual. "I have noticed a disturbing trend recently of fake news being attributed to me on social media, i don't know who might be behind it or what their motivations might be but let me assure you that anytime i feel the need to comment publicly on any matter, i will not do so via some anonymous email or anything".
Ojukwu Jr. urged members of the public to discountenance the stories on social media and other platforms accredited to him warning that such malicious and damaging publications will not be taken lightly if repeated henceforth. He also urged the president not to take such comments serious as it is capable of overheating the already heated polity if not nipped in the bud as a matter of urgency.
