KENYA: Breaks World Record with The Harshest Ban on Plastic Bags

Following the ban on the usage, manufacture, or importation of plastic bags in Kenya, which according to a  new rule  has taken effect this week states that offenders will be fined as much as $38,000, or serve up to four years in jail. Visitors or Citizens coming into Kenya with plastic bags will have to leave them at the airport or the borders. Kenyan's have began adjusting to life without plastic bags starting from traders in Nairobi who have swapped the cheap lightweight plastic bags with cartons, paper bags, and envelopes to the grocery stores who are now selling reusable fiber bags and cardboard boxes. GHANA: Wisa Greid's Court Trial Adjourned Again

Wisa Wisa Greid who is currently facing trial for allegedly exposing his penis while performing at the Accra International Conference Centre on December 24, last year has declared that the Court is wasting his time with continuous adjournments. The South African female cop busted in Brazil for drug smuggling resides in a modest backyard room in Kensington, Johannesburg. Angela Maluleke, 33, was arrested at São Paulo International Airport, allegedly in possession of six bricks of cocaine. When Sowetan visited her back room yesterday, her silver Mazda 2 was still parked outside where she had left it. Her landlord George João described Maluleke, who has a seven-year-old daughter and a year old baby, as a "friendly person whose boyfriend only visited her once". João said he was excited when she moved in to rent his backyard room in March because he believed that having a police officer at his house would deter criminals and was charging her R1500 a month to rent a room, and this amount included electricity and water. SOUTH AFRICA: Student Receives $1million Loan in Error

  A South African university commences investigation on  14 million rand ($1m; £770,000) loan divert to one of her students in error. The university became aware of the incident when a snapshot of the student's account balance went viral. A Walter Sisulu University (WSU) spokesperson accused the student of spending some of the money on a "lavish lifestyle",  Times Live reports . The student, who is yet to be officially named, declared that  she had reported the incident to the appropriate authorities when she noticed the loan. EGYPT: 14 Killed in Bus and Truck Collision

At least 14 people are dead while 42 others are injured following a collision between a bus and a pick-up truck after plunging from a bridge onto the road below in southern Egypt, officials said. The Health Ministry in a statement declared that the accident took place on a main road linking Beni Suef with the capital, Cairo. The driver of the pick-up truck, which was carrying poultry, told local media that he fell with his vehicle from the bridge but managed to get out of the vehicle quickly, then the bus fell over his vehicle. The driver is currently being treated in a hospital. The bus, which was travelling from Cairo to the Upper Egyptian city of Menya, was carrying 62 passengers. Hospital sources said that some of the injured are in a serious condition. Egypt has one of the worlds highest accident rates owing to careless driving and poor road and vehicle conditions. The Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has apprehended a mobile phone repairer who allegedly hacks into people’s social media accounts and uses the information for nefarious activities. David Sam-Essandoh the suspect allegedly  connected the WhatsApp application of his victims through WhatsApp web to a MacBook Pro laptop and subsequently monitor their conversations for motives yet to be established the police said He was busted when one of his victims suspected that her WhatsApp conversation was not secured and possibly shared and brought her observation to the notice the police.
